We choose our PFDs based on the quality of their construction, and the
softness of the foam. A good lifejacket will form to your body, and not impede
movement. Properly fit, they will be so comfortable you might forget you are
wearing it.
The higher-end PFD's have a wide range of adjustments for a universal fit.
The less expensive options have different shapes and cuts, which will feel
different to different people. It's hard to go wrong with a high-end PFD,
because it will have enough adjustments to feel comfortable on almost everyone.
On the less expensive options, we strongly encourage you to try them on, and
make sure their shape conforms to your shape.
Note: For paddling in Colorado or Utah, make sure your PFD is Coast
Guard approved for paddlesports. The Coast Guard approval tag on the back of the
jacket must specify paddlesports, canoeing or kayaking. If your PFD is not
approved for paddling, the BLM will reject it. All of our lifejackets have this
approval, but the cheap jackets found at bulk retailers may not be. Waterskiing
PFD's, besides being uncomfortable, are not approved for paddlesports.

Extrasport Retroglide Saber

Our most popular PFD. The Retroglide Saber offers multiple
adjustment points for a perfect fit. The large pockets store your keys,
sunscreen, snacks, a GPS and other goodies. Neoprene over the shoulders doesn't
chafe the neck. Large armholes provide excellent freedom of movement.

a Retroglide like the Saber (where the side adjustments are connected to the
back), it has multiple adjustments for a comfortable fit. Large storage pockets,
