Rental Information

If you're interested in renting one of the canoes or kayaks from Colorado Paddlers, let me know a few days ahead of time. I can let you know what is available and schedule a time for you to pick everything up.

If you see this Tacoma with canoes or kayaks on top, it's probably me!

Some of my Fleet

Note: People often ask what I'd sell a certain boat for. I decided to simplify things and list those boats which are for sale here (there are some boats which simply are not for sale). I've also included some of the Colorado Paddlers Demo Fleet which is also for sale. The difference between my boats and Colorado Paddlers (both are good condition used) is that you can buy the Colorado Paddlers boats using a credit card, but you'll also be charged sales tax. My personal boats are private sale, and cash is preferred.

My Personal Boats:

Blue Hole Sunburst II     14'6"     Royalex Solo Whitewater Tripper     $650

The Sunburst II is an older style whitewater playboat. Stable and forgiving for beginners, seaworthy enough for advanced paddlers to enjoy on whitewater trips. It's currently rigged with a solo pedestal, but can quickly be converted into a small tandem for day play (includes extra thwart and kneeling thwart for conversion). Boat includes NRS floatbags, Extrasport High Float PFD and paddle.

Esquif Blast     13'     Royalex Solo Whitewater Tripper     $2,295

I'll have a photo soon. The Blast is a highly responsive whitewater tandem that I converted into a totally awesome tripper. 9.5" Mikey Saddle for all day comfort, dual electric bilge pumps to drain the boat should you take on water, top load bag cage with safety strap to hold everything tight and in place but where you can also quickly load and unload. Urethane floatbags that are super-durable. 13.7V Li-ION battery pack and charger. Yes it's tricked out, everything is top of the line. It's only for sale due to the shop rule saying we can only have one "personal boat" that's not for sale. If you want a similar boat you're going to pay a few hundred more.

Eddyline San Juan     90 lbs     20' x 32"     Fiberglass     $1,600

The San Juan is an older tandem expedition kayak. The center hatch/ cockpit can be used to store huge amounts of gear, or to bring a child/ dog along. Hatches in the bow and stern provide additional storage space. Boat includes 3 cockpit covers (all three cockpits), neoprene/ nylon sprayskirts, Swift Paddles, spare paddle, bilge pump, paddle float and compass.

Valley Rapier 20     39.5 lbs     20' x 17"     Ultra-Kevlar (Kevlar/ Carbon)     White Deck     $4,399

The Rapier 20 is an open ocean racing kayak. This design set the record for crossing the English Channel, and is very successful in adventure racing. VSK hatches open into waterproof compartments. New foil rudder is connected to OZO toe control pedals. Stock seat has been replaced with a Bumfortable foam seat for long distance comfort (stock seat can be re-installed, foam seat is lighter and more comfortable). Thighbraces have been trimmed 1" to allow better leg action while retaining enough control for rolling. Price includes cockpit cover, and 2 custom sprayskirts (1 breathable fabric with zippered entry, 1 neoprene deck with breathable tunnel).

We-no-nah J-203     27 lbs     18'6"     Kevlar     $1,995

The J-203 is a solo USCA marathon racing canoe. She's very fast on flatwater, but seaworthy enough for powerboat waves and class I. I did modify this boat since the photo was taken, and she now has an integrated sliding footbrace with toe straps. This allows for quick seat trim adjustments, such as shallow water, while maintaining good spacing.

Colorado Paddlers Boats

These are boats out of the demo/ rental fleet. All are in very good condition, and you're welcome to rent any of them to really test paddle them first.

Current Designs Whistler     58lbs     14'6"     Polyethylene     $899     MSRP is $1,249 you save almost 30%

The Whistler is your basic touring kayak. We brought them in because we had people who wanted a beginner friendly kayak for our beginner overnight trips. They are simple and effective, lacking the bells and whistles of more expensive craft but very functional. The cockpit is roomy and the thighbraces can be left in for excellent contact or removed to make getting in and out that much easier. The forward hatch is 10" round and protected by a cover, the stern hatch is larger and visible above. Rudder controls are sliding Werners, very strong and simple. If you're looking to get started in kayaking but don't want to blow thousands of dollars, this is a way to start. Lightly used paddles and sprayskirts are available if you want a basic kayak package. There are several Lime and one Red to choose from (Red and one Lime are still in factory wrapper, they were cosmetic blems when bought but we could never find anything bad).

We-no-nah NorthFork     87 lbs     16'9"     Polyethylene     $674     MSRP is $899, you save 25%

The NorthFork is our livery tandem canoe. Stable and comfortable, it's an excellent choice for fishing, photography, or just getting out on the water. Ours are green with black ABS gunwales.

Hurricane Tracer 165     46lbs     16'5"     Trylon     $1,355     MSRP is $1,595 you save 15%

The Tracer is a true sea kayak, lighter than the Whistler and with better speed and carrying capacity. The skeg allows fine tuning of performance in wind, with the skeg fin up (shown) the boat will weathercock slightly, with the fin half down the boat is neutral, and if the fin is totally deployed (using a slider on the right deck) the boat will turn away from the wind. Ergonomic seat, comfortable backband, and legroom for paddlers of all size, this is a great boat. The boat shown above is the only Tracer in the fleet, we wanted to test the Trylon material on river trips and it's impressed us with it's weight and durability. Lightly used paddles and sprayskirts are available if you want a basic kayak package. We also have these new in the Canoe Colorado inventory.

Valley Aquanaut HV (Argonaut)     57 lbs     17'8"     Diolin     $2,783     MSRP is $3,274 you save 15%

The Aquanaut HV is a new boat in the fleet, photos will be added soon. This is the ultimate tripping kayak, designed for long voyages in rough conditions. Incredibly well built with attention to strength and durability, the hatches are air and water tight, the bulkheads are fiberglassed in, the composite seat is positioned high so that the paddler has a normal stance when under load. If you're looking for a sea kayak that can paddle everything from Yellowstone Lake to the San Juan River, this is the boat.
